Making Money from a Dance Blog

I am constantly amazed at how non-business-minded belly dancers can be!

Most belly dancers do not make a full-time living from their performing work or their belly dancing school.  All the more reason why they should make the most of every opportunity to supplement their income, surely?   Yet so few of them even bother to investigate money-making opportunities on their own websites.

These days, it’s almost compulsory to have a website if you’re teaching belly dance.  That being so, why not take a bit of time to investigate products which you can recommend to your students?   As a small, local enterprise, you may not be able to attract paid advertising, but it’s often possible to advertise on commission (called affiliate marketing).

Recently, I was involved with the creation of an affiliate scheme for a ground-breaking new belly dance certification program by Shemiran Ibrahim.  She went to considerable effort to contact other dancers personally, to offer them the chance to advertise her product on a commission basis.   This is a serious educational product offering real value, in a field where there are very few alternatives – a way to become a qualified belly dance teacher without having to travel to attend workshops or sit exams – yet there was an almost universal lack of interest!  

I suspect a big part of the problem was that these “webmistresses” were just not tech-savvy enough to have patience with the sign-up process, or the mechanics of placing banners on their sites.  It’s sad, because it’s not really that difficult – just a little complicated the first time around.  And for most dancers, the commission would make a significant contribution to their income.   There are certainly opportunities out there for anyone who is prepared to tackle the learning curve:  take a look at Belly Dance Bazaar for examples of how advertising in the sidebar can be tasteful and not overwhelming to the content.

Give the LEGO Space Shuttle 3367 Set for Christmas

If you’re looking for a fun, inexpensive Christmas gift to give this holiday, look no further than the LEGO Space Shuttle 3367 set.  This set can be purchased online for less than $25 and is a fantastic small lego set.  This space shuttle set comes with 231 pieces, including an astronaut in a spacesuit and a Hubble telescope that can be launched from the shuttle.

The shuttle itself has a cargo bay with doors that can be opened and closed.  The Hubble telescope sits within this cargo bay and awaits its launch from the shuttle.  This gives the set extended playability that some LEGO sets can not provide.  You won’t see this shuttle sitting on your child’s shelf for long periods of time after it is put together.  It’s a great addition if your child already has a LEGO space collection started and if they don’t have a collection yet, let this set be the first.

With only a little over 200 pieces, the set shouldn’t take too terribly long to put together, even if your kid is a newcomer to the LEGO world.  The set is rated from age 5 to 12, but I think I’d be looking at the set for kids on the younger side of that range.  The space shuttle might be a bit too easy to put together for a 12 year old.

Internet Shopping: Finding A New E Cigarette

When a friend recently asked me what e cigarette I thought they should buy as an introduction to the world of vaping I was stuck to give him an answer due to the fact I’ve been using the same device for the last 2 years. A lot has changed during this time and I was sure there must be some new products out there which would be better than the Green Smoke which I rarely put down.

I thought this might be an opportunity for me to find a new e cig for myself, as well as find one for my friend. I decided to do some research on the Internet and read a mountain of e cigarette web sites to try to find as much information as I could to make a better purchasing decision.

The only problem I found was that it’s hard to find sites that offer good information. Many of the places I visited seems to have very limited reviews, and I’m sure the majority of the content was written by people who had never vaped on the devices they were writing about.

Anyway I eventually found the e-cigarette shop which seemed to be about as “real” as I was going to find. The reviews were detailed and the guy who wrote them obviously knew what he was talking about. The only problem was he thought the Green Smoke was still the best electronic cigarette on the market so it looks like I’m not going to be getting a new one for myself.

I did pass on the information to my friend though and he has decided to give it a go for himself after all the time I’ve been raving about how good it is as a smoking replacement. I only hope that he likes it as much as I do because the $100 it costs is a lot of money for someone on his budget.

I Want A Cuisinart Griddler Cheap!

Who has the cheapest Cuisinart griddler online? This was a text message my wife sent me the other night. It seems her and her co-workers had some time on their hands and they were talking about Christmas gifts and what they want and such. It seems like a very popular request for a gift this year is the Cuisinart griddler. There seems to be several reasons for that.

First with many people eating at home and not dining out, kitchen appliances that makes it easy to cook and also easy to clean up are very popular. This griddler by Cuisinart fits that bill. The product can be used in five different ways, so you wont get bored using it to cook.

It comes with a contact grill, and a full grill. Snap the plates out and turn them over to use it as a full griddler. Snap and turn over only one plate and you can use it as a half grill half griddler. You can also use it as a Panini press too.

Finding Internet Business Opportunities

Internet business opportunities are a dime a dozen. You see them everywhere on the internet even if you’re not looking. They are plastered on ads, your spam box in your email, and even on late night television. The reason all of these opportunities exist is simple: There is a huge demand. Many people are either looking for extra income or a way out of their current job. I mean, who wouldn’t want to live a life where they can work from home, not have a boss, and do whatever they want? Okay, perhaps people who actually love their jobs wouldn’t find having an online business attractive but let’s face it, most people don’t exactly love their jobs.

How to Get Revenge

Okay okay, so many people will immediately jump up and tell me that it is a bad idea to seek revenge on someone who has done you wrong, or that the best revenge you can get is to move on with your life and be happy. Sorry, but to me that is utter rubbish, and I don’t know how those people can get on with their lives if they don’t see justice done. Heck, imagine the reaction from the public if after 9/11 everyone had taken the attitude we should not seek justice for those terrorists who were behind that vile act and should simply get on with our lives and be happy as the best revenge possible!

Now I had a very good reason for wanting revenge on a certain someone who had done me a great wrong, so I went looking for ideas online as to the best way to achieve this without committing any serious crimes. I found two excellent articles written by the same author and each article also had many useful links on it to places or books where I could get even more ideas. The first article was simply called : How to Get Revenge and had lots of both funny and clever ideas for revenge. Even the comments section was a mine of ideas because of the amount of revenges the commenters had shared there. Her second article was more serious and looked at the levels people go to in order to get revenge. That article was called How Far Would You Go to Get / Take Revenge. Both were an excellent read though and I did utilize one of the ideas to exact my revenge on the person who did me a very grave injustice.

The author in question appears to write loads of different stuff about life in general, and I enjoyed reading her stuff enough to think it is worth linking to her Profile Page here, so others can go and check out the kind of articles she writes and choose to read those appropriate to them.

Cooling a Nintendo Wii

If your Nintendo Wii ever cuts out during gameplay then there is a good chance that your console has a problem with overheating. There is no reason to be overly worried, but you do need to take measures to fix that problem as soon as possible, failure to do anything will result in serious damage to your Wii’s components. Sometimes even death.

Thankfully the solution is a rather easy one, you need to invest in a decent Nintendo Wii Cooler. Unfortunately the market is saturated with coolers which cannot be considered ‘decent’, but rather cheap and tacky. Following that hyperlink takes you to a website called Best Laptop Coolers which has a section dedicated to coolers for other electronics including games consoles. 

The site recommends three fantastic low cost good value Wii cooling fans, the cheapest of which will cost you less than $10, the most expensive of which is actually a full Wii dock with spaces to store controllers as well as the integrated fans. That will cost you just $20 at time of writing, a complete bargain! With the protective equipment being so cheap, it makes little sense not to protect your expensive console from permanent damage. A simply yet dangerous problem, a simple and very cheap solution.
